Andy is a Level 3 Consultant, Trainer and Examiner at Argyll Raune. He is one of the most experienced and highly qualified Level 3 NDT specialists in Radiographic Testing globally. With over 30 years of experience in the industry, Andy brings extensive expertise across the oil and gas sector, as well as castings and weld inspection. A specialist in Film Radiography, he is also highly experienced in Computed Radiography (CR) and Digital Radiography (DR), with additional exposure to Computed Tomography (CT).

Andy provides Level III consultancy services including reviewing and approving written practices and procedures, developing and delivering structured training programmes, writing examinations, conducting certification examinations (PCN, ASNT, EN 4179), and marking assessments. His background also includes senior engineering roles within manufacturing and civil nuclear projects, where he developed NDE strategies, designed NDE facilities, and led teams in high-integrity environments.

He holds Level 3 certification approvals for PCN, Rolls-Royce, Augusta Westland, and BAE Systems, alongside ASNT and EN 4179 Level III certification in Magnetic Testing, Penetrant Testing, Visual Testing, and Radiographic Testing.

Outside of work

Andy enjoys spending time with family, watching the rugby and a pint of Guinness!
