Ian is Deputy Chief Examiner and a Level 3 Consultant at Argyll Ruane. He supports the delivery and management of the PCN Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) examination process, ensuring full compliance with PCN requirements and promoting a fair, consistent approach for all candidates. With a strong focus on quality and governance, Ian upholds the highest standards of integrity across both the certification process and the wider PCN scheme. Alongside his examination responsibilities, he provides Level 3 consultancy and training, drawing on his extensive range of certifications and industry expertise.

With over 25 years of experience, Ian brings broad technical knowledge across multiple NDT methods. He previously worked with Argyll Ruane from 2014 to 2018 as a Level 3 Consultant, Trainer, and Examiner, before moving into senior leadership positions, including Managing Director. In these roles, he was responsible for strategic operations, procedure development, and ensuring the highest standards of technical compliance and service delivery. Holding over 19 PCN certifications and ASNT NDT Level III certification in multiple methods, Ian is recognised as one of the most highly qualified professionals within the field.
