How did you first hear about the NDT industry?

“Initially I didn’t have a clue what NDT was!  When I was younger, I applied for an engineering apprenticeship at Rolls-Royce but got asked if I would consider the NDT Apprenticeship instead.

I completed an advanced apprenticeship in Engineering Technical Support focusing on NDE at Rolls-Royce and later progressed to become a Responsible NDT Level 3 for the compressors business unit covering new manufacture, in-service and repair and overhaul”, says Kyle.

What do you enjoy about working in NDT?

“Working as an NDT Engineer and NDT Responsible Level 3 has taken me around the world, to places such as Norway, Tunisia, Brazil, France, Sweden, America and Romania, which I have thoroughly enjoyed.

I enjoy the fact that I am able to meet new people. I am passionate about passing on my NDT knowledge and my own personal experience to others within industry as well as helping people to grow”, says Kyle.

Fun Fact!

In his spare time, Kyle enjoys taking part in off-road trials in his Land Rovers.
