Empowering coatings inspectors with first ever Level 3 Passive Fire Protection course in China

Our global partner, TÜV Rheinland, successfully launched the Level 3 Passive Fire Protection (PFP) Coating Inspector (Epoxy) course at their training centre in China for the first time in that region.
Accredited by the Institute of Corrosion (ICorr), this course is designed for senior inspectors and technicians seeking to enhance their proficiency in comprehensively understanding and evaluating PFP installations.
This comprehensive course delved into a range of topics that will help empower candidates to gain specialised expertise in inspecting common types of epoxy coatings, which play a critical role in safeguarding against hydrocarbon fires in both onshore and offshore installations.
How we supported
A key highlight of this collaboration was the utilisation of one of our highly skilled consultant trainers, Alex Garner. With over 30 years of international offshore and onshore corrosion engineering expertise, his involvement in not only delivering the course, but also aiding in its conversion into a bilingual English/Chinese format and contributing to course development, was instrumental in its success.
The introduction of high-calibre training and certification programmes, in addition to our partnership with TUV Rheinland, helps us to continue achieving our goal of nurturing expertise and contributing to the safety and sustainability of critical infrastructure on a global scale.
Our partnership supports the enhancement of skillsets and knowledge of inspectors in the region, ultimately generating high-calibre inspectors who are ready to meet the demands of the flourishing number of projects in China.
We look forward to supporting more Level 2 inspectors in their journey to upskilling to become a Level 3 technician in the near future.
