Facilitating successful examination services to long-term partner in South Korea

We recently facilitated successful examination support for our training partner Nawoo Ltd, in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.

Over a three-day period, our Level 3 consultant, Nathan Bate, invigilated examinations for 13 candidates, in line with the Level 2 Ultrasonic Testing (UT) of welds PCN (ISO 9712) certification scheme, ensuring our high value examination experience is upheld. Prior to examination, candidates received thorough Level 2 UT Welds training by our Trainer, Dr. Jeong-Ki Lee.

Examination scope

The UT Welds Level 2 examination tests the candidates in key areas, including:

General and sector-specific theoretical knowledge in relation to the UT of welds
Equipment calibration and verification of ultrasonic testing parameters
Practical defect detection within plate butt welds and rolled plate
Preparation of technical instructions for Level 1 operators, demonstrating proficiency in creating clear and concise documentation

In collaboration with Nawoo Ltd, we ensured high value examination support by:

Effectively coordinating 13 individual exams within a limited timeframe
Collaborating with Dr. Lee to minimise language barriers and deliver clear examination instructions
Providing a supportive environment to maximise candidate performance
Ensuring high quality examination specimens are utilised
Ensuring the examination is representative of the candidate’s performance on the day
Implementing a robust invigilation process
Marking examinations to ensure efficient result processing upon completion
Reviewing PSL/30 forms to verify candidates’ industrial experience

A partnership built on expertise

Since 2016, our collaboration with Nawoo Ltd has facilitated over 380 examinations, supporting their role as a Remote Training Centre (RTC).
