Last month we were delighted to support the 1st UK-China Corrosion Summit, held on 3rd and 4th of September 2025 in Manchester, UK, as Exclusive Platinum Sponsor.

Organised by the Institute of Corrosion (ICorr) and the Chinese Society for Corrosion and Protection (CSCP), the summit was an important milestone in bringing together expertise from both countries to discuss “AI Impacts to Corrosion Management within the UK-China Energy Industry”, creating a valuable platform for knowledge-sharing, innovation, and collaboration.

Highlights included keynote talks on the role of corrosion big data, AI in materials and corrosion engineering; alongside technical sessions on AI-driven inspection, predictive maintenance, machine learning applications and advanced modelling for corrosion risk management. There were also open forums designed to encourage knowledge-sharing and strengthen links between UK and Chinese corrosion communities.

Welcoming delegates to Sheffield

On 4th September, we had the pleasure of hosting the Chinese delegation to our Sheffield site.

Delegates took part in a tailored programme designed to give them direct insight into our expertise and facilities, introducing delegates to our services and giving them insight into our approach towards training delivery.

The visit included an overview of our training, consultancy, and examination services, guided tours of our coating inspection and NDT classrooms and our examination areas. Delegates also took part in live demonstrations and interactive sessions, giving them first-hand experience of:

  • How our coatings inspection and NDT courses are structured and delivered
  • Direct conversations with trainers about real-world applications and career opportunities
  • Demonstrations of inspection methods using a range of samples and industry-standard equipment
  • How academic knowledge translates into industrial inspection and corrosion management
Sharing expertise, building connections

On 4 September, we were honoured to welcome the Chinese delegation to our Sheffield site. Delegates took part in a tailored programme designed to give them direct insight into our expertise and facilities.

The afternoon included an introduction to our training, consultancy and examination services, followed by guided tours of our coatings and NDT classrooms, practical rooms, and exam setups. Delegates also engaged in live equipment demonstrations and interactive presentations on coatings inspection and NDT training.

Continuing the conversation

Supporting events like this helps strengthen international collaboration, support innovation, and ensure the industry continues to advance best practices in corrosion management.

We look forward to building on the discussions and partnerships formed during the summit, and to continuing our work in supporting industry excellence worldwide.
