About Nondest Oy
Nondest Oy is a non-destructive testing (NDT) services company operating across multiple locations across Finland. Their focus is on delivering reliable and high-quality NDT to ensure the safety and integrity of a wide range of components and structures.
The challenge
As part of their strategic business direction, Nondest Oy are working towards ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation as a testing laboratory. To help achieve this, they were required to satisfy the following criteria:
- Evidence of proficiency tests for each operator per each NDT method they use, administered by an independent party using validated “flawed” samples
- NDT Level 3 approval of NDT procedures for Magnetic Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Visual Testing (VT)
- Authoritative support to Level 2 technicians to enable them to continue performing tests in the field with full compliance
Our solution
Our Level 3 Consultants supported Nondest Oy by providing:
- Over 50 Proficiency Tests tailored to each NDT method for 13 Level 2 technicians, aligning with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, in MT, PT, VT, UT and RT Methods
- A review and approval of 22 NDT procedures for all of Nondest Oy’s methodologies (RT, UT, MT, PT and VT) and 2 Destructive Testing procedures (fillet weld fracture test and bend test) to satisfy accreditation criteria
- Independent, expert validation that gave Nondest Oy’s technicians and their clients peace of mind regarding testing quality and process integrity.
The outcome
By partnering with us, Nondest Oy is now well-positioned to meet the stringent requirements for ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. Our Level 3 expertise:
- Ensured compliance: All NDT procedures were reviewed and validated, giving technicians the confidence and authorization to perform tests effectively.
- Streamlined accreditation process: Custom-designed proficiency tests helped Nondest Oy demonstrate their technical capabilities to accrediting bodies.
- Delivered professional insight: The client was impressed with our team’s professionalism, helping them maintain high standards while navigating the complexities of accreditation.
