IMechE Argyll Ruane are pleased to welcome Elliot Mason to the technical team as an NDT Apprentice.

Elliot has over 7 years’ experience working within engineering, initially starting his career constructing aircraft components and later progressing to become a trainee NDT technician, which involved composite inspection of the aircraft components he previously used to make.

Elliot also has experience using ultrasonic inspection to test forged products, such as bars and billets, and holds PCN/SNT Level 2 qualifications in Ultrasonic Testing of Welds and Forgings.

IMechE Argyll Ruane are working with Skills Training UK to support Elliot in undertaking the NDT Engineering Technician Apprenticeship to further develop his NDT knowledge and skillset whilst becoming a valuable member of the team.

“Helping individuals develop in their career is something we are passionate about at IMechE Argyll Ruane and we are excited to see Elliot progress through his apprenticeship over the next couple of years”, says Dean Wagstaff, Training Manager at IAR.

The NDT Engineering Technician is a 3-year apprenticeship which involves gaining an in-depth understanding of the core knowledge, skills and behaviours of a competent all-rounded technician, in addition to completing a project and gaining three Level 2 PCN qualifications.

IMechE Argyll Ruane work in partnership with Skills Training to support the delivery of the NDT Operator, NDT Engineering Technician and NDT Engineer. For more info, please get in touch!
